Read it, build it, document it back
- Translate it faithfully. Your measurements become construction specifications — clear openings, blocking before tile, turning radii, transfer heights, both-side caregiver access. We confirm the design with you before anything is built.
- Fund it honestly. Every family gets a funding map — VA, Texas Medicaid waivers, City of Austin, USDA rural, nonprofit options — with real caps and timelines, and the honest no where it applies.
- Build it safely. Safety hardware by our own CAPS crew to your placement direction. Licensed-trade construction by insured partner crews we scope, schedule and inspect. Occupied-home protocols as standard.
- Document it back. Photographs and as-built dimensions to you on every completed job, with the client's permission — plus a flag if we observe something that warrants clinical follow-up.

What happens next, every time: a free in-home assessment scheduled around the client's routine, a written fixed-price quote, installation to your direction, and documentation back to you. If we cannot help — wrong scope, wrong trade, outside our area — we say so quickly and point you somewhere useful.

Discharge planning does not wait for a grant cycle. This is what needs no program approval.

Weeks, and worth planning for
Tub-to-shower and roll-in conversions, doorway widening, zero-step entries, stair lifts and platform lifts. These involve licensed trades and, often, a funding application — so we start the paperwork in parallel with the interim safety work rather than after it.
What your client actually receives
A room-by-room evaluation of about one to two hours, run by a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist. It is free, nothing is sold during it, and the written report belongs to the family — they can take it to any contractor they like.
The checklist runs to 59 items across ten sections and is measured against published standards rather than opinion: ANSI A117.1, the 2010 ADA Standards, and the IRC. Doorway clear width, threshold height, ramp slope, grab bar height and load, toilet height, lighting levels, transfer clearances.
Findings are ranked in three tiers — life safety first, then fall prevention, then accessibility and comfort — so a family with $900 knows exactly which $900 to spend.

Your independence is the point
- No referral fees, ever, in either direction — no cash, no gift cards, no "marketing support", no discounted equipment, regardless of who is paying for the work.
- We never supply or bill prescribed DME — hospital beds, custom wheelchairs, pressure mattresses. We coordinate the built environment around what you and the vendor specify.
- Fixed written quotes, and no pressure at the kitchen table. Nothing is signed on the day of the assessment.
- Nothing goes back to you without the client's permission.
Questions clinicians ask
Do you pay for referrals?
No — and we do not accept payment for them either. No fees, no gift cards, no marketing support, no discounted equipment, in either direction, regardless of who is paying for the work.
Your recommendation stays clinically independent and your licence stays protected. Federal anti-kickback rules agree with us, and so does the Texas Occupations Code, which has no payer-source exception.
How fast can you see a client who is being discharged?
For the free in-home assessment we can usually schedule within the same week. Safety hardware our own crew installs — grab bars, rails, stair treads, threshold ramps, equipment fitting — normally happens in a single visit and needs no program approval.
Tell us the discharge date when you refer and we will tell you honestly whether we can meet it.
Will you install to my placement recommendations, or to a generic standard?
To yours. Your measurements and recommendations become the construction specification, and we confirm the design with you before anything is built. We size wet rooms to the equipment you are specifying rather than the other way round.
Where you have not specified a dimension, we fall back to published standards: ANSI A117.1, the 2010 ADA Standards, and the IRC.
Do you handle the funding applications for the family?
We do the navigation and the contractor-side paperwork, at no charge: a personalised funding map, itemised estimates in the format each program expects, invoices and photographs for the file, and follow-up while an application is pending.

Do you supply durable medical equipment?
We supply and fit day-to-day equipment: transfer benches, shower chairs, toilet frames and risers, bed rails, portable and threshold ramps — often on the same visit.
We never supply or bill prescribed, billable DME such as hospital beds, custom wheelchairs or pressure mattresses. We coordinate the built environment around whatever you and the vendor specify.
