Accessibility Statement

We build accessible homes. Our website should be too. Here's our commitment and how to report barriers.

Our Commitment

Live Oak Home Access is dedicated to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We believe our website should be usable and understandable by all visitors, regardless of their abilities or the technology they use.

We are committed to conforming to WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards and continually improving the user experience for everyone. This commitment reflects who we are: a company that helps people stay safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes.

What We've Done

To meet accessibility standards, we have implemented the following measures:

  • Semantic HTML. We structure our pages with proper heading order, landmarks, and meaningful labels so screen reader users can navigate and understand content.
  • Color contrast. Text and images meet WCAG AA contrast ratios, making the site readable for people with low vision.
  • Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements (buttons, links, forms) can be accessed and used with a keyboard alone—no mouse required.
  • Meaningful alt text. Images have descriptive alt text; decorative images are marked as such so screen readers skip them.
  • Works without JavaScript. Core content and functionality are available even if JavaScript is disabled or fails to load.
  • Resizable text. Text can be enlarged up to 200% without breaking layout or functionality.
  • Focus indicators. Keyboard focus is visible and clear at all times.
  • Form clarity. Every form field has an associated label, and error messages are clear and helpful.
  • Accessible media. Videos include captions or transcripts where applicable.
  • Mobile accessibility. The site is fully usable on phones and tablets, with touch targets at least 44×44 pixels.

Known Issues & Ongoing Work

We regularly audit our site and fix accessibility issues as we find them. Some third-party tools (like maps or booking widgets) may have limitations beyond our control—but we're always looking for better alternatives.

If you discover something that doesn't work for you, please let us know. It helps us improve.

Our Bigger Picture

We understand accessibility firsthand. Every day, we help people modify their homes—adding grab bars, widening doorways, installing ramps, and converting tubs to walk-in showers—so they can live safely and independently. Digital accessibility is an extension of that mission.

An accessible website means a 70-year-old can easily find our phone number, a parent can quickly understand our services, and someone with a disability can book a free in-home assessment without frustration. That matters to us.

Accessibility & Your Home
